Yes but it has nothing to do with race... the 'conflict' if you can call it so is between mainly caucasian Canadians and... caucasian Canadians. Of course there are other ethnics implicated, but in majority Canada is white.

I feel bad dude, I was totally joking about taking any kind of offense to the comment. I didn't want to make you feel awkward about what you were saying, so I hope I didn't add to any of the frustrations. Sometimes I just can't hold myself back from saying stupid stuff, but you don't have to worry about being politically correct around me. Its all in good fun.

Kitdy was merely attempting to appease the frenchies. To do this he had to do something very French to get on their good side; so he surrendered. It was a PR move and nothing more.
That said, to those parties offended, Kitdy, despite his lack of smilies, was being blatantly sarcastic and if you cannot deal with a Canuckistani making fun of you you have no sense of humor nor irony. Being tactful certainly has its place in conversation, but at the same time, political correctness as we currently perceive it has become incredibly stifling and something of a nuisance; a good idea taken too far.
