this is not pretty but its ugliness is greatly surpassed by Porsche current front runner, the Cayenne.

I saw some comp-gens of the Panamera in some magazine.......looked much better than this - they couldnt possibly put that back window design into production with that level of ugliness - and dont get me started on that wing,

You guys know that's only a test mule and not likely to be based on the final design, right? There's no camo, no tape, nothing. There's no way the final design would be driving around out in the open with nothing covering it. Looks like they've just forced bits and pieces together around the driveline.
It's amazing it took ten posts before someone had a correct observation.Originally Posted by pimento

A) Porsche was earlier spotted using 928s, 5-series, A6s and Cayennes to test the chassis and the drive line. The fact that they are not doing so any longer indicates that the final packaging and design study have been completed.
B) Besides, there have several occasions when automakers have driven their designs in the open. btw, porsche are doing that with their new Cayenne.
C) Look at the level of detailing on the sides. Notice those panels, they are nearly production-ready.

So you can tell all of that from a small, fuzzy photo?

Also, to really get the chassis right they'll want to run it in a test version close to the final production version. And the doors looked crimped in around the edges. And they'll show the Cayenne early because it's just a facelift of a current model.
Anybody will say anything to disprove of something he doesn't like, so of course he thinks he can tell all from the test mule.Originally Posted by 2ndclasscitizen
