At what power output did it die?

    It's a 1996 Volvo 850R Estate 2.3litre 280bhp automatic.
With complete service history, spanning over 296.000 km
I also got it with the original 17" dark gray alloy's, but because we are entering the winter i thought it would be wise to keep it on some 15" winter tires.

After driving a 1997 Saab 900 for a year and a half, I'm pretty happy to have found my perfect Volvo 850
    Nice. Lower it.
    John says:
so i had to dump acid into the block tank today

Don't race what you can't replace.
You did it on purpose, right?
Just kidding, that's a really messed engine... a sad sight.

Did you manage to save the upgrades you made to it?

Lowering is on my to do list. But first I'll want to see what it looks like with my 17" wheels.
A stuffed labrador ? that could be funny. I'll have to try.
But drifting could be a problem with a front wheeldrive car.

Already started a list with things to do, so I'll soon open a thread in the User Rides section.

Lift-off oversteer. If that doesn't work try the handbrake.

with that much mass, it is unlikely the back end would come out. better just stick to the hand brake.

more likely that once the back moved, you won't control it.
yes, better just stick to the hand brake (despite the effects being basically the same, but at a smaller level).

Yeah inertia could be a problem. But it's a Volvo. No big deal if you crash or something.

It had a 3 year extended warranty because they were having issues with it, so it got sent out to get fixed. I just didn't want to wait for it.
