BMW turbocharged M12/13 (5.5 bar boost, as much as 1400HP)
RST-V8 (because nothing is cooler than taking two 5VPC motorcycle engines and putting them together. Well except if you did that and added a supercharger [which they have already done for the Ariel Atom 500 and Lotus Super 7 RS Levente])
Power, whether measured as HP, PS, or KW is what accelerates cars and gets it up to top speed. Power also determines how far you take a wall when you hit it

I'm sure you're correct because dimensionally the V10 is basically a ten cylinder variant of Chrysler's 360 cid V8, which is part of their "LA' series family of small-block engines, and both the 360 and LA originated in passenger cars
Btw Chrysler's alloy V10 first seen in the Viper debuted before the iron V10 version later seen in Dodge trucks - so you could just as well claim that the iron V10 motor is actually Chrysler's non-alloy version of their 'sports car' enginerather than being a 'truck' engine

In no particular order.
-The Ferrari Colombo V12, the original Ferrari engine. This is perhaps the greatest engine ever made. Any of the variants will do, from the earliest 1.5-litre to the last 4.9-litre units. But if I had to pick one it would probably be the classic 2953cc with 6 twin Webers. Great sound, great performance, heritage, racing pedigree. It has everything.
-The Porsche flat-six engine. It did last 35 years with solutions like air cooling and 2 valves per cylinder. Great sound and maybe the most successful racing engine ever. A legend which will be forever be united to that other legend.
-The AMG fettled M113 Mercedes-Benz V8. It might not have the history and pedigree of the other two but it just the charisma. Massively powerful in supercharged form and a fabulous soundtrack.
Lack of charisma can be fatal.

Love the first two, not the last. Without a supercharger the SOHC three valve M113 feels surprisingly gutless for a V8.Only 3?

I know the ol' Merc V8 is not as special technology wise or as legendary but that sound is epic. And ttis definitely perfomant and effortless.
