    New Car! Peugeot 508 SW

    Hey guys!

Now I have picked up my new car!

A little info about the car:
    2012 Peugeot 508 SW 2.0 HDi.
My 508 SW is in Allure trim, which is kind of well equipped for a Peugeot. Besides what comes standard in Allure trim, she also has an upgraded stereo, satelite navigation, motorized adjustable front seats, motorized rear hatch, Bi-Xenon headlights, part leather interior and 18" wheels.

The engine is a 2.0l Diesel, with 103 KW (140 hp) and a manual 6 speed transmission.

I have immediate plans for the looks of her, I will rice her up right away! Sticker heaven here we come

I didn't have time to take alot of quality shots of it today, but it still looks nice The roofrack looks hideous thuogh, and it's going off as fast as I can. Just bought it for a potential skii-box mount in the future.

I love the green container on the roofrack.....(pic 1)

and only 140 bhp? I thought the 2 liter came with 163? (Room for chip tuning though)

Apart from that, congrats and enjoy it.

Many happy miles! Jalopnik would be very impressed with your choice of a diesel wagon.

Congrats! THAT is a handsome, efficient estate. Which here in 'Murika we'll never be able to purchase.

Congrats. The estate looks far better than the saloon.

    Thanks Pieter!
You can't imagien how much hassel it was to get that container up there
And yes, we also have a 140 hp for tax reasons. The 163 is available up here to, but it's cheaper to chip it as you mention, unless you get caught with it

Thanks Kitdy! I am no Jalopnik regular, so if you want to elaborate why Jalopnik would be impressed, I am interested in hearing about it!

    Thank you csl.
We are lucky over here, we get the best of both Europe and the US.

I agree 100%. Besides beeing 10 times more practical for us with kids, it's also much better looking than the sedan! And what is your opinion about the 508 besides the better looks on the estate?

Jalopnik can be very Europhile (ditto Autoblog); they lust for the practicality and forbidden fruit of a diesel wagon that does not reach our shores.

Indeed, that is a very cool wagon!

I think the only wagons available in the US are the Subaru Outback, Mazda 3, Cadillac CTS and the Acura TSX. And that's it.

Damn, what a shame. I was kind of glad that gas was expensive so that people threw out their SUVs.

People would have gone straight to wagons if that had happened.

    Nice car!

People who are used to driving SUV's are never going to choose a wagon because they like riding higher and the better road vision that comes with it.

I don't understand why sitting high is good, or worth the thousands of dollars premium that it costs.

My old van was kinda cool in that you were high up, but I'd much rather the driving dynamics of a car, and also, not paying for gas/upfront cost.

There are many SUV's these days that cost no more than a car and get up to 30mpg hwy.

To think SUV you don't have to think mammoth gas guzzler.

I like the fact that it has a 72 litre tank, which with the diesel must make for a very long range indeed. I hate stopping for fuel...

I don't like that they don't offer the front double wishbones for models other than the GT (or offer the GT for different drivetrains). If they have developped it, why not offer it across the range, at least as option? Altough I've read that it doesn't make much of a difference actually.

I cannot say much more about it, it seems like a normal family estate. But I do not have direct experience with the car, so my opinion hasn't much value, has it?

What's your opinion on the car?

Does the Chevy HHR count? If so, they've become extremely popular
