I think that the front grill is much to large.

They gave it the front of the Verve concept but it would have been a much better car if hadnt left the rear unchanged. what were they thinking?? its half a new car.

    More practical?

I'd love a Focus ST estate...

it's the sportiest version, it's not about practicality.
i cannot think something about sport in a hatch with so much doors i will find more useful an estate, at least you could say "hey man, i have children!".
in defense of my "3 doors opinion" i could say that this would suppose to be my car, so i am not interested if the access to rear places is comfortable, since i'm driving it
btw, i use so rarely rear doors that i nearly forgot their utility

for me it's 3-doors, or a coupe. "life is to short to be practical (and to run on diesel)" HAHAHA...my car (my mother's car) has 5 doors and it's a diesel

Who cares? The American Focus is much too ugly.

yeah the original focus was great. unfortunately ford dont seem to believe in the 'its good so dont change it' philosophy so they've instantly made the first-gen focus a classic. But hey the new focus isnt BAD. its just not a focus in my eyes. Its a bigger car, its basically a mondeo with the ass cut off. Which goes to explain your question earlier. 5 Doors because its like putting 1 window on a plane. The original focus looked sweet in its 3 door edition. The angular windows flowed with the rearlights. The new one however looks exactly the same with or without 5 doors so you may aswell save the hassle for the backseat passengers in this case and get 5 doors. If you want a nifty 3 door ford, you get a Fiesta ST. Or if you really do want the fastest careless Focus then you wait for the RS and that deserves 3 doors no matter what.

holy words, i am pretty interested in the RS, even i am not going to buy it
even if the car's shape is the same in 3 or 5 doors configuration, my argument is something about "ideals", it's not simply aesthetics. a lot of people buy 5 doors hatch even if they don't need them.
