    Thanks for the pics of the prototypes! Mustangs I, II, III and GT are my favorites. Too bad they chose not to build the mid-engined cars, but as competition for GM's Corvair the tooling costs were beyond consideration. Building Mustangs on Falcon chassis was the cheap solution and Ioccoca took it. Considering it's humble origins, the final product really did change the industry in the most cost effective way possible.

    Had tooling and the marketplace been different, imagine what could have been...
