Look at the speedometer - the car is going 110 kph during photoshoot.

    Only in Italy.

Here 4C Spider is photographed inside Fiat's old Lingotto factory in Torino.

A beautiful avant-garde building. The car is pretty too.

Those curves look even more sexier in real life.

The dash is now fully wrapped with leather for a more upscale look.

That whiff of luxury is seriously challenged by a new head unit, which looks hopelessly after-market.

That is a USDM version so it is probably doing 110mph not km/h... In any case it is impossible to get a ticket for a driving offence in Italy so...

By the way, the USDM 4Cs have an extra vent on the drivers side just in front of the rear wheel apparently because they have an extra intercooler compared to the EDM cars. And why do they have an extra intercooler? Well apparently, USDM 4Cs have a different exhaust system from those with EDM specifications due to stricter emissions regulations and would be down on power (and performance) if they didn't have that extra intercooler.

To my knowledge, that extra vent is supposed to cool the transmission.

Never heard of an extra intercooler on US-spec models. Sounds like nonsense to me.

The source where I got the info from is usually very reliable and have got good insider info on FGA. I would trust them. But nevertheless it's not an official statement so it could be anything really.

Are they still producing very small numbers of this car?

I have yet to spot the coupe in the wild.

At the factory in Modena, they are running one assembly line, working in a 8-hour shift making 12 cars each day.

Currently, there is an 18+ months waiting list in Europe for 4C Coupe. In U.S., dealers have been ordered to stop taking orders because the demand is “significantly in excess” of what FCA can currently provide.

Many Launch Edition cars are sitting in U.S. dealerships with a hefty $10k...20k mark-up price.

How will Spider fit into this chaos, is anybody's guess. Second assembly line is planned for late 2015/2016, presumably it is for Spider.

Nothing wrong with an aftermarket head unit- it's probably easier for the owner as it's not super proprietary, and the owner could swap it out pretty easily.

    4C Spider Italia 2018

The Spider “Italia” special series is identified by the Misano Blue bodywork, exclusive to the 108 cars in this collectors' version. On the outside, eye-catching features include the asymmetric five-spoke wheels, 18-inch at the front and 19-inch at the rear, with yellow brake callipers to match the stitching on the seats, dashboard, steering wheel and door panels. The side proudly displays an exclusive "Spider Italia" sticker in the colours of the Italian flag. The 4C Spider Italia's standard equipment includes Akrapovič titanium central twin tailpipes with dual mode function and carbon trim. The equipment is completed by Alpine premium Hi-Fi system, with subwoofer, numbered badge on the central tunnel and aluminium “Italia” dashboard plaque.
