I was just thinking about Spyker the other day and how they haven't come out with a new car lately. How well is the Aileron selling?

    It's ailing.

The profile does not look like a modern supercar at all. Not enough rake in the front windshield too hoopy. Kind of reminds me of the Alfa Romeo Exige.

Will be interesting to see what it looks like on the floor at Geneva. And more importantly, what it looks if/when they take the top off. Which I hope they do.

Didn't realize Spyker still existed. I was almost sure they would have folded in the global financial crisis.

Rumours say it based on the Artega GT.
It would make this new Spyker easier to get it in to production.

Wow, it looks like it has 6 exhaust pipes.

Wouldn't it be cool to route exhaust through there?

Other rumours suggest it's Lotus Evora based and built.

    I've read Artega too.

Altough one has to wonder how they've managed to extract 75bhp extra from the engine if they haven't gone FI.

    Unless they've ruined reliability.

Whereas if it's Evora based, it's only an extra 25 bhp from an already supercharged V6.

    Just for the comparison.
I think the Atega looks too similar.
The Evora is just to different.

But about the enigine, thats an other story, Artega uses a Volkwagen V6.
I can't see Spyker use that engine, because Youngman and Volkswagen aren't best friends these days.

    That would make sense mechanically.

According to technical specs released by Spyker it also has the wheel base of the Artega (the Evora has a longer wheelbase) and Artega has gone bankrupt, so that makes sense too.

However, maybe it has the Artega chasis with a new engine? The C8 Aileron ended with an LS9 engine, maybe the engine from the Insignia OPC massaged up a bit?
