    Need new car

Hi everyone. My '93 Maxima bit the dust last Friday. I am looking to buy a new car, something in the $5,000 price range. I am going through an auto broker who will be able to get something for about the trade-in value. Right now I am considering '96-'98 Audi A4s, 2000 Cadillac Catera or 2000 Lincoln LS V6. Does anyone have any thoughts on these cars or others?

    Thanks,
    Nate

VW GTI? Fun to drive, practical, lots of performance parts available.

if you can deal without many frills or thrills, you could get a used 1996-1999 Taurus for about that price.

You're so obsessive. First it's the Prius, then the Focus bashing, then the Marauder, then the 500, now the Taurus. During all these periods, you're either praising the hell out of a car or bashing the brains out of it. Do you compromise?

I prognosticate his next automotive idol will be the AMC Pacer.

Nah, I bet he test-drives a Focus, and starts taking back all his deroggatory remarks in an attempt to praise it.

Hmm, I call, and raise! after he test-drives a European focus that will make it's way into America in, lets say... 2-3 years? (Their current model of Focus that we haven't gotten our hands on yet)
