2 or 4 doors? If you don't mind wether or not its new new I'd go for an ex-pig car like a P71 crown victoria or impala. Otherwise I'm going to say a just-above-base 3 series BMW.
Well it all depends on the needs of the person that will be driving the car. I guess that your dad wouldn't go for the Evo or the STi. A 330Ci would suit him better IMO.
No doubt about the Evo being quicker, but the 330 is far more refined and easy-going.
Grand Marquis or a Subaru.
isn the sti 40k USD? EDIT: wait no its 32k, 38k canadian a little on the expensive side but its a possibility. more around 29k 30k cars. plus hes using this car for work so i don't knoe if and evo or an sti would be very good hes in leasing so he has to go out and see clients and everthing hed look a bit weird driving an evo/sti

WARNING! Stay as far away from a Chrysler product as possible, as they are expensive, ugly, and will cost more in repairs than it cost for the car origonally, so NEVER buy a Chrysler, they are utter pteces of garbage, I know from expirance.
I have found a new love in the form of a tristar.
