What the hell was the kid thinking?

Hope he gets what he deserves!

For those of you that had trouble finding the ending..

This afternoon we're coming home, southbound on Bonaventure Dr at Southland (behind WalMart). Red light and I decide to move over to the right lane in the gamble someone's turning left, even though there's way more cars. All of a sudden this silver Acura comes FLYIN by me in the left lane..."he's not gonna stop...." WHAM!!! right into the back of a Black Mercedes (*fixed thanks to Al*) and bounces into a cabbie and mini van. All of a sudden I see his back-up lights go on..
"He's taking off!!!....quick, Heather, hand me my camera" (yeah my new one with the big lens!!) I start snapping pictures in burst mode. He backs up...does a U-turn and takes off northbound right by us. Snapping pictures the whole way. The BMW and cabbie also do U-turns and take off after him. We pull into the WalMart Lot and phone 911. Cops come and I give my statement along with the pictures. The cop just starts to laugh.
Talk about OWNAGE...man the problems with cops + insurance...talk about a field day.

I really don't get why you would hit and run. There's a reason you've got insurance. To pay for shit like that. Hit and run is really immensely stupid*. I know that I would immediately write down the license plate if I saw something like that happen.

*unless he's uninsured. In that case they can throw his sorry ass in jail.

Although I agree with it being stupid, the main reason you'd hit and run is probably because you don't want your insurance to go up...although you'll still have a broken bumper...

Or more likely, because he was scared.

The kid did sound like a real asshole. According to the photographer, he was driving like he was Paul Walker, speeding and weaving around traffic, and He couldn't stop in time to avoid hitting the other car.
