I love him. He's really bringing BMW into the 21st century. He's a creative genius, IMO.

Pictures of the new 5- and 7-series do the cars no justice. I saw a silver 5-series today in a parking lot, and was really impressed.

I said I love him, but in all reality love him or hate him he's really getting people to look at BMW. I've loved the new design direction since I first saw it. I'm relly interested to see what the next 3-series and M3 will look like.

Lightbulb In theory; Yes. In Practice...

I was going to post about how some of his designs are ok, but then I realised that the BMWs that I like (new 7 and 6 series) are by Adrian Van Hooydonk, not Bangle.

However I think that even though his designs aren't the most attractive ever, he has pushed BMW into the position where they able to produce cars that have been designed to stand out, rather than a conservative approach.

All the time you see these amazing concept cars, and in the past, the actual production model would be a pathetic watered down version, with none of the style or passion of the concept, but thanks to the likes of BMW, Renault, and others, there are more and more cars taking their motorshow looks to the production line.

I would add further praise to Bangle at this point, but I have seen the new 1 series, and the X3.

He does do amazing sketches though...
    Thanks for all the fish

I think that the current BMWs are without a shadow of a doubt the worst BMW designs ever made. Chris Bangle deserves to be fired and Hired by some tiny company where he can spend the rest of his career redesigning the Yugo.

Initially, I didn't like the 7 but after a while I don't mind it so much... The 6 is fabulous.

I'm 100% with you, as I commented long ago in another thread, I believe Bangle's designs are heavily influenced by Jennifer Lopez.

    im in between

i would say that im in between. i really love the 7 & 6 series , i changed my mind about the 5 series. its not so bad once u get used to it but i really cant make my mind on the X3, whether it looks good or not. the 1 series looks ok but too bulky when i think it should have been sleeker to give it a good & sporty look.
