Mercedes V12

Some of the Mercedes V12 units incorporate 50% engine shutdown. just wondering, does this then run as a straight 6 or a V6?

dont know for sure, but i should say like a V6

a v12 engine would be 2 krankshafts of a V6 coupled in this part

polly they found a system to couple those 2 parts, although im wondering does that engine witch while running to v12?
