If you want a hotdog youd open the fridge get one out and then what?

Agreed on the uses of a microwave......microwaving a hot dog? Is it a hotpocket?

Boil.. but not boil boil, just a bit of a simmer. Much less likely that they'll pop open that way. Especially true for cocktail franks.

I would boil because I believe it's healthier (some of the preservatives and salts leach out), but technically shouldn't you grill it?

And why would you microwave it, I have no idea.

Personally, I think Nathan's Franks are way too salty, for my tastes anyway.

Sometimes, I even boil it twice.

On the odd occasion I have a hot dog its boiled, though here we just throw a sausage on the BBQ.

If I want a hot dog, I usually am too lazy for foods that take time and effort. So boiling it would be pointless. I just throw it in the microwave.

Or you could just stick it and broil/bake it in the oven.
