Hey guy, what are you doing!!??

Ferrari 612 Scaglietti is a 2+2 coupe, and I like it very much!
But Maseratti Quattroporte is a luxe premium sedan! It's quite nice too! It has a lot of options, it's so elegant and solid!
How can you compare them?! One is a premium sedan, one is a fast coupe. They are DIFFERENT! Both are very good rides in their classes. It's like comparing an airplane vs. a bycicle!

i think its a good comparison! a danish magasine made the same comparison... the cars arent that different! they are both four-seaters (i know the ferrari is called a 2+2, but its more like a 4 seater...) and they are both sportive and they are both exclusive, Exotic italians...

and as for my choise: the Quattroporte:

the magasine choose the quattroporte aswell...

    great comparison.. IMHO

    airplane vs bicycle.
    That's what i think...
    Would you compare a DB9 with a S-Class?
Would you compare a CL with a S-Class?

No it's not. The Quadroporte's buyer is likely to be a family man in his 40's or 50's with a wife and kids to haul around but doesn't want to give up the performance for those times he's alone in the car.

The 612's buyer is likely to be single, younger and will use it's 2+2 capacity once in a while since he doesn't need 4 doors.

Having said that, if I had the money, I'd get them both

    one is 2-door
    one is 4-door
    one is grand tourer
    one is luxo-sports sedan
    one is v8
    one is v12
one is started at $95,500 USD
one is started at $247,850 USD

my conclusion is that these can NOT be compared, who is with meh?

I think it is a marginal comparison.

They both have ideas above their station.

The Maser wants to be a Ferrari supercar with it's space-age chassis and Ferrari engine.

The 612 wants to be a supercar, with its de-tuned Enzo motor and pretending that it doesn't have rear seats.

Neither of them are especially nice to look at and are compromised:
The 612 isn't really a practical 4 seater, and the Maser isn't really a kuxury saloon because the "auto" mode on the gearbox doesn't work.

No, your thinking of the 575 owner there, except he has an X5 or something for when practicality is required.

The 612 owner will be the the same guy that buys a Maser, but is more desperate, and with less taste.

I prefer the Maser over the "smacked-with-shovel" Ferrari, but I wouldn't want either.
