Yes, the LM002 in the late 80s. The car is known with both affection and derision as the "Rambo Lambo."

I see this as ok, if you remove the enthusiast in yourselves from the picture and look at it as a business decision. Look at Porsche and the Cayenne, 10 years ago they were at a crossroads and looking at potential bankruptcy. Now they are looking to buy Volkswagen and profits are rolling in and record levels. Extra profit means more money to develop cars like the Carrera GT and 911 derivatives. So if Ferrari does this, and it rakes in cash (which inevitably it would) that just means more money in the bank for the next supercar, or more exotic variations on current models. And who here doesn't want that? So bring on the SUV, besides, I need something new to laugh at posers about.

That's all I need to hear. I'm retiring my old practice of posting Youtube tractor pull videos every time a sportscar marque makes news with an SUV and claiming it was Walter Rorl caught testing on the 'Ring's runoff areas. I know you all eagerly awaited those, but sometimes 'nuff's enough.

I'm pretty cynical, but even I think some corporations, Ferrari included on the short list, still have heart enough to stick to their guns.

That said, it's not an unreasonable argument that the Cayenne made the Carrera GT financially possible...

Well yes, I know Lamborghini made an off-road monster, and I remember when there was talk of Porsche doing one too, so it may not be such a stretch for Ferarri to do one too, but...

If the Old Man was still alive, who'd be the one to pop the idea to him??

That sound you can hear is Enzo rotating at 22,500rpm in his grave!!

My God. Best fourth post ever? Great point, umm, BarneyBoy. Il Inginiere would have dismissed whoever brought this idea to him and had him shot in the back as he left the factory gates film noir fashion.

    It won't happen, I pray.

Perhaps for the ultimate insult they could name it the Dino?

what an ugly car ... Especially the rear looks horrible.

I also made toughts about a freetime vehicle for Ferrari but I decided to do a Crossover vehicle.
I won first Price in the Design Trophy 2007 from "Autozeitung" with this Concept.
here is my design - A 3 Seater with central driver position.

So it is you who drew this Very good job! But still I think Ferrari is not a kind of company to make a SUV.

Ferrari FS599 Fuoristrada, as they call it, will be built using the Porsche Cayenne/VW Touareg platform.
W.T.F.!? You KNOW it's a fake when you read that line...
That and Ferrari has explicitly said they'll only build sport cars, not even sedans.

What's with the weird winged windows?

    Strange.

Was it a concept or was it actually produced?
