    Best damage in Racing games

What game do you think has the best damage system. I think Burnout Paradise.

Do you mean looks or realistic impact on drivability ?

Nobody's really managed a realistic damage to the driving model imho, RBR got closest

never played burnout or nfs but DIRT is pretty mint. shame you cant see replays becasue i had a few nice slowmos losing control and crashing and rolling thorugh the air with parts falling off!!

The engine in the new GRID : RACE DRiver is a more refined version so will look better in detail and react better

Forza Motorsport 2 for realistic damages, Burnout series for insane damages.

I don't think Forza is that realistic.

Not when you can crash at 200km/h and still go with some minor dents and scratches in your bodywork.

Forza doesnt give you minor dents and scratches.. you shorten your entire vehicle.. not to mention if its on realistic you wont be able to drive very fast till you get into the pits again.

Of course I was exagerating, but still at such speeds the car should be written off and made sensibly smaller.

    That just doesn't happen.

Also if you crash the back of the car you sometimes lose your exhausts...

I crashed at 215 km/h with my F430 at Silverstone and I got a LOT more than scratches and dents... engine suffered, gearbox was done, both front brakes bit the dust, front suspension was done, not to mention the whole front of the car was a bloody mess to look at. I guess it depends on what settings you put the damages on. Simulation ftmfw.

But if you were exaggerating it's all good

yeh simulation damage hurts even when tarding paint with fellow races it hurts too but thats simulation. it annoyin when peopl eabuse it but most of the time it add s a good edge and means everyone drives properly not like they are all in bumper cars.its a shame there are no indication of where people are around you. i know there is the distance guage but it doesnt help when you dont know what side they r on.

I second that. Simulation damage is about the best on any racing game. And burnout is just fun.

Forza is also good for if you rear-end someone in a racing car, your front splitter is gone and you have understeer aplenty. But for added realism, try the GTR series, I've been known to just push the engine too hard in GT Legends and blow the thing up on the first lap.
