2009 Le Mans Predictions Competition Official Thread

So here we go, the second annual 24 Hours of Le Mans predictions thread.

We're gonna have 2 competitions, but you only make one set of picks.

    First Competition:

You pick the winners only. The winner is the person with the most correct choices.

    Second Competition

Same as your picks from the first competition, however based on a points system.

4 points if you correctly guess the winner.
2 points if you correctly guess the team.
1 point if you correctly guess the manufacturer.

The winner is the person with the most points.

Remember, you only make 1 set of picks.
Those are copy rules pasted form last year. Rocke suggested adding more crap to predict but I'm lazy and nobody got back to me on the predictions thing so we'll go with this for now and maybe add more later.

    Here's
    an entry list.

Selections will be due by Wednesday, June 10, 11:59 PM EST aka the day before qualifying. No using qualifying as guess to find out who will win the race.

Just emulate my selection style as below - they are my choices by the way.

    LMP2

    #31 Team Essex

I'm dropping out to create a company that starts with motorcycles, then cars, and forty years later signs a legendary Brazilian driver who has a public and expensive feud with his French teammate.

What do you mean the 956 doesn't race anymore? Damn, I'll have to say the Ford GT40 MkII then.

Does Panhard still contest the Index of Performance? I'll bet they'll win that.

    P1: #1 Audi
    P2: #5 Team Goh Porsche
    GT1: #63 Corvette
    GT2: #77 Porsche

P2 I went with a outside bet, but without Jos the Boss I don't see any car being signifcantly quicker amongst the RS Spyders. With Ara(overall winner 2005) and Massen(Factory driver) it should be a quick car though...

GT2 I'd have gone with a Ferrari of Salo and Melo if not for the fact that Porsche is tend to be the quicker car at Le Mans since I think they still enjoys a power advantage....

LMP1: #17 Pescarolo Sport Peugeot 908 HDi FAP (flawless preparation by the Pescarolo crew nets them the victory. France goes wild.)
LMP2: #30 Racing Box Lola B08/80-Judd (the coupe pays off in LMP2)
GT1: #72 Luc Alphand Aventures Corvette C6.R (rare problems for the factory team give Luc a victory)
GT2: #92 JMW Motorsport Ferrari F430 GT2 (Rob Bell, Andrew Kirkaldy, and Tim Sugden is all you need to win)
