    Stretch Limousine Rented

I've been talking about it for a year or two and finally decided to rent a stretch limousine for an after-Thanksgiving lunch with some family members at a restaurant about 10 miles away.

I narrowed it down to two companies. One just sold their last Lincoln Town Car stretch limousine and the other one still uses them. So I went with the latter. To be precise, a 120" stretch Lincoln Town Car limousine, black inside and out.

It was only for myself and one of my brothers. My oldest brother and his wife showed no interest in riding in it (his loss). We met them at the restaurant. The chauffeur arrived 20 minutes early. The first thing I noticed when I entered the car was the leather aroma. Probably because with the large amount of seating area (it was an 8-10 passenger limo), it adds up to a lot of leather.

One reason for renting it, in addition to doing so because the Town Car is being phased out for use at limo companies, was to compare the ride with my '76 Cadillac limousine. I was kind of surprised to discover that my limo rides about the same. The stretch did not seem to ride much, if any, better. I would guess it's the difference in the suspension system (my limo's is probably softer) and weight... my limo does weigh 6,000 lbs).

I, of course, took photos and videos. Photos below. I liked the "light show," LED lights on the ceiling and throughout the interior which changed colors. Had the radio set to a station playing Christmas music. It was a relatively cool day, so the rear A/C was not used.

Some here are probably curious about the cost. It was $395 for four hours and that included tax and tip. There was still 30 minutes left when I got back home, so my mom's nurse and I went for a ride in the area. About 3 miles and 15-20 minutes. The nurse really enjoyed it and used her tablet to take photos and a video.

So, it worked out well. I am glad I went through with it. It certainly was fun! I don't know if I would do it again because it is relatively expensive. But I may!

It will be a sad day with no other town cars as limos. What did the other companies have?

The purple hilight lights are rather nice. Are yiu and your Mom's nurse, uh, an item? Heh.

Nice to hear from you again Fleet!

Hi, Kitdy. The company I used was called Crown Limousine. They also have Chrysler 300 limos, Hummer limos and Cadillac Escalade limos. Yes, it will be sad when the Town Cars are no longer used. Maybe someday I will buy a 120" stretch Town Car just to preserve one!

Yes, the lighting was a good touch.

The nurse is not all that hot, divorced and somewhat overweight. Probably a good thing. Best to keep her on a business/professional level.

The 300 would actually be the perfect limo. Classy, and yet gangster chic.

It might be okay. I would have to "sample" one to know for sure.

    Hiyo!
If the nurse looked like this (which she doesn't), then that would be different.

I've been in a stretched 300. The inside was very similar to the photos here. Seemed ok, but I have no reference points for limos besides that.
Life's too short to drive bad cars.

I probably would like a stretch 300, also. It's probably the next best choice since the Cadillac DTS has ceased production.

The "other" limousine company I contacted (Limousine Connection) just bought two 300 stretches, so I may use that company sometime. LC has been around since 1978 and has excellent reviews.

Are you sure it isn't a happy ending massage though? It all seems a bit suspicious...

Kitdy, there are two kinds of massage therapists... the legitimate ones and the "other" ones. The latter give the legitimate ones a bad name.
