Sub-species of human known for dedicating their existence to soft drugs, freebies and each other. Compliant to a strict dress code, which includes Reebok (Classic) and (Neon) Nike trainers, tracksuits (tucked into socks), Burberry (for that big occasion) and hooped earrings a dolphin could jump through. Other accessories include fake bling (9ct gold) and cheap clown/horse pendants worn round the neck.
Chav culture embraces self-destruction. Fags, cheap cider, Lambrini (otherwise known as Charver Cava) and poor quality "drugs" are all consumed frequently.
Chav females often conceive between the ages of 11 and 15 and popular baby names include "Josh" and "Jordan".
Habitat includes the forecourts of Spar / Late Shops and favoured transport is the bus, or a "souped up" car, usually a (debadged) Vauxhall Nova or Ford Escort.

Regional Varietys of the definition of the word chav
In the North West they're known as scallies.
South Wales as townies..
Northumberland as charves or charvas
Were considered to be a descendent of Essex Girls - but more widespread outside Essex.
Scotland they're called Neds.
Newcastle they are called Charvs and a charver is a small gypsy child
In Ireland chav and pikey are offensive words meaning gypsy.
