it is not a river front, it is the coast line of the mediterranean sea.

Sorry, you're right. I just saw the word 'riviera' and the word river was typed out.

when I was about your age I hitchiked all the way from Toulon to the Italian border. The driver was a Vietnamese guy living in France and driving an old Beetle.

it is a beautiful coastal area with many interesting villages and small cities, like St. Raphael, Le Lavandou, Saint Tropez and Cannes. The allure you may understand when you go there.

Beautiful weather, stunning scenery, some of the most luxurious houses and hotels in the world. Also Monaco is a tax-free haven, so if you're a rockstar/businessman/filmstar/racing driver you can avoid the whopping income taxes you get in most countries. Plus there is the GP there every year, one of the biggest events in motorsport.

Put simply, I wouldn't say no to living there!

It's not 'near Monaco', it is a region of which Monaco is a large part.

Monaco is a VERY small little principality and land is at a premium. Therefore property prices are absolutely astronomical, you need to be ludicrously rich to buy anything larger than a shoebox over there. So yes, it is hard to live there. It's only really worth the cost of living if you're on multi-million pound wages so you save hundreds of thousands on taxes each year.
