Makes sense, it is Australia's NASCAR after all and if it ties into NASCAR in any way, SPEED's gonna cover it

In it's first 3 years Speed covered the entire Aussie Supercars series (tape delay) along with a pile of other motosports from around the world before selling to Murdock. I also miss superboat racing from New Zealand & the USA, BTCC & DTM and LIVE coverage of WRC.

V8 supercars as great as it is, cannot come close to some other racing I would like to see. Speed 2 (the website, grrr), is now covering DTM and quite a few other racing series that SHOULD be on primetime. Speed 2 needs to have it own channel. The constant NASCRAP is really grinding my gears. 3 series, 3 hours of practice each, just as many as qualifying, 5 of racing, 2 of coverage daily, it just about drowns everything out

V8 supertaxis is getting old.. would be nice to if the series could return to proper GT racing.

Psychocop stops another Gremlin is the only commercial from the original program on Youtube... there were a bunch, really funny. Psychocop shooting into the air in response to a '62 Vette driver having duct tape on the seats was one of the best:

"SO, ya got yourself a '62 Corvette... reeeeal nice. A little cracked paint here, trim has a few dents, and... (motioning with his pistol)
what's under the towel?" The driver pulls back the towel to reveal a seat with split vinyl taped together. "Duct tape? DUCT TAPE!?!"

According to Wikipedia they were, but that is when they were using Group C/A rules and before that Series Production and Improved Production. They still award the ATCC trophy to the V8 Supercar champion though.

Theres other touring car championships locally as well as GT championships, but neither draw significant crowds or manufacturer interest.

And in fact there was a Holden works onslaught to the ETCC with the Group A Commodore in the 80's.
