the silvia(240sx, 200sx for US), is by far 1 of the best cars nissan has made, its a 4 cylinder RWD, mostly used for drifting, but can be wonders with a good engine, i've also seen it in some professional races. the lastest of that car is the S15a which was made in 98. some could even say its a more economic version of the skyline(pls don't flame me on this, as this car can look like a skyline after engine/body mods, tho without AWD). the 200sx is FWD and has either a 1.6 or a 2.0L 4 cylinder(US).

and our American cousins wonder why we love cars that they hate.
Blame the US manufacturers for preventing you getting decent cars

After 228 years of independance, maybe time to rejoin as a colony and get the chance to have 'free-market' decent cars j/k

you guys in australia get the actual cars from japan, you do get the 200sx with the turbo, we in US don't, we get the 240sx with the frontier engine(the 2.4), it is said because of emissions from the sr20 don't pass here in US. and it is also said that the 240sx here in US didn't come with the sr20det cause it could beat the 300zx.(but this is just rumors and what not).

yeh, kind of sux we don't get free market where all cars come and go to other places so they could sell the skyline here in US.(at least then i wouldn't have to get the engine imported from japan for my 240sx:P, or better, buy the actual skyline)

nah actually we dont' cause our petrol is so crap we get toned down versions. the japanese version is the sylvia and it has the same 2.0L turbo but produces 221 hp as opposed to 197...

    the 200sx is FWD and has either a 1.6 or a 2.0L 4 cylinder(US).
Ah, the confusion brought about by the unfortunately-named 95-98 200SX in the US Market rears its ugly head once again. As an owner, driver, and enthusiast of the last real Silvia-platform to carry the 200SX name in the U.S., the 1988 S12, I run into this all the time. Usually it's from owners of the 1995-98 B14 200SX, or as I call it, the 200SentraX, since that's all it is, a 2-door Sentra. Nissan USA figured in '95 that enough people remembered the rather popular RWD 200SX's from the '80s that the 2-door version of the B14 would sell better here if they called it the 200SX. And since the S13 was given the 2.4 liter KA24 engine and the 240SX name in the US, the 200SX name wasn't being used. So they slapped it on there.
So now I have to patiently explain to these clueless 200SentraX owners that aside from the name there is NO relation between their FWD 2-door Sentra with a 200SX badge on it, and my RWD S12 hatchback. My car is not the "previous version" of their car. My car is the previous version of a 240SX. The previous version of their car is a B13 Sentra. A lot of them are too young to really remember the S12's at all. What's really fun is telling the owners of GA16DE-powered 200SentraX's that my VG30E-powered 200SX SE is not only RWD, but has almost twice the engine displacement of their "200SX"

I created a branch page off my website to deal with this exact issue:

"The good news is, not one of the 50 states has the death penalty for speeding....although I'm not too sure about Ohio."

Sesquipedalian -- a really cool word. It means long-winded, polysyllabic, or verbose. See the word describes itself...isn't that neat?
