I wouldn't get the pontiac. They are junk, every one of them that we get in at the shop is junk, even new as 04. Check engine lights, exhaust leaks, the ride is terrible it feels like the car is going to fall apart.

    Just repeat aloud:
    I drive a BMW, or
    I drive a Pontiac.

I think you get where I'm going with this.
i was waiting on a moment, but the moment never came. all the billion other moments, were just slipping all away. i must have been tripping, we're just slipping all away. just ego tripping.

^Depending on miles and model though.

Go for the 3 Series. There's a kid here with a GP GTP who is completely oblivious to the fact that you could turn the E36 325i into a monster of a car. Swap the engine out for an E36 M3, get a set of new brakes, suspension, and a few other goodies, and you got an amazing machine.

Or you could just buy an M3.

I'd seriously not go for the BMW. Like any older car they tend to have way more trouble then new cars. Remember it is 15 years old.. BMW maintenance is pretty expensive, compared to brand X. The Pontiac might not be the most attractive choice here, but probably the wisest.

The guy only spent $7K doing his entire swap, and it's actually lighter and faster than the M.

Can you buy a M3 for just $7,000? Possibly, but it sure as hell won't be in good condition.

Many bmw owners in my country swap their engines for a 2.0 turbo supra engine. or those from nissan rb20det .... reliable, lower maintenance, lighter and more powerful. screw the |6 ..

That just completely kills the car's identity, then. I mean, putting another BMW engine is one thing, but Supra and Nissan engines?

That's as bad as putting LS1's in Porsches, imo.

it's actually very beneficial. sr20det's into old 3 series, 1ufze V8's into old 5 series, etc. better than the BMW engines in pretty much every way, if you don't care about the 'BMW spirit' crap, because lets face it, the 3 series 4 cylinder engines are pretty rubbish. and reliability is vastly improved, and it costs a lot less than swapping M3 parts in
hell, QSR put a quad rotor engine in their 3 series race car

It just sounds very strange, not to mention awful hearing a Nissan engine from a BMW.

70, I suggest checking the bimmerforums' for sale & wanted section. Plenty of 325's with way, way lower miles than that. Prices can be a bit higher, but many are at, or below Bluebook Value, and have over $3K invested in performance as well as near perfect condition.

You'll def. find a better BMW over there.

I would definitely take the BMW.
