Thats tuned, not stock. When comparing two factory made stock cars, you tend to only compare factory offered stock versions of those cars, and not what you can do with the car after you get it.Originally Posted by MOPAR KICKS ASS

When comparing the C6 Z06 Corvette and the SRT-10, the Vette wins hands down. Now, don't get me wrong, I absolutely LOVE Vipers and I'm crazy about the Corvette at the same time but, for about the same power (just 5hp difference) and with the Vette being faster and lighter as well as gets better fuel economy and I think corners the same as a Viper...the Z06 would be my buy. And for $65,000 compared to $85,000 -- why not?

Plus, it's a 7L V8 (Z06). Viper uses a V10 to get 5HP less? Chevy really did a phenomenal job this time.
i would get a z06 corvette if i was talking stock here, but when it comes to special versions of the car i guess you could say, i'd take the hennessy venom 1000tt hands down. even lingenfleter couldn't do that to the vette ass well as hennessy did the venom.
Ha you guys are stupid some time. Viper for me looks better. But if you gave me a C5 Z06 and 30 grand Id take it and make a race car. Im all about big stroker engines in the C5 like a 427.

Yeah i hate the new vette its ugly as hell.
its really unfair to compare the C6 z06 to teh viper the more accurate comparison would be the C5 to the viper and then the C6 Z06 to the new viper thats due out soon.

Why? Who cares? There both on the market at the same time and both in the same class, with one of them being built to rival the other. Besides waht advantage does the new Viper have over the old one? So what if it has 10 more hp (gasp), it weighs a bunch more.

i'm just saying that you should compare the 2006 c6 Z06 with the 2006 Viper GTS coupe.
its lighter than the predecessor, same weight, better braking, and a new 6 speed transmission. i'm not saying its neccessarily better, i'm just asking that you make a fair comparisson

Actually, I think many trucks don't even use leaf springs anymore.
I know it's fast, but that's what you should get from 7. litres (Americans may be de-sensitised to big cubes, but the rest of the world expects a heck of a lot from 7 litres)
Just wait for the ACR that car eat any corvette.
haha, what a bunch of Vette haters. The Vette is the best thing to come form America in a very long time. Accept it! There's no way LPE won't make this the best tuned car, btw. Lingenfelter will turn this Z06 into a total beast. And sure, it may be 7 liters, but do u know which two cars are the only ones over 400 HP that avoid the gass-guzzler tax? The C6 and the Z06. YEA!
Best thing from America? What happened to the Mosler MT900's, the Saleen S7's, and the Ford GT's? The Vette might cost less, but personally, it might be a great performance car, with a little luxury thrown in....but I am starting to feel that it isn't good enough at either of them in the end, to make it worth the money over a British track racer or a German luxury roadster.
