Yea, I'm imagining more of a factory suppled engine and name thing rather than a full in factory go. Still, more manufacturers is good either way.

It'll be weird for Lotus to "supply" engine, since their road cars uses Toyota motor....

Would make sense for Toyota to do it though(be it as "Toyota" or rebadged as Lotus), since Nissan is doing quite well with their engine in P2...

Lotus are planning on making their own engines for new models.

The last quote I heard they were still looking to Toyota, and they were even thinking about making a "supercar" level car with the LFA V10....

And Lotus never seem to be about making own engine anyway, even if they have that capability. Granted if McLaren ended up doing it why not Lotus....they were even thinking about making dedicated fuel sipper for generator duty of cars like Volt....

    These are the articles:

Lotus to go in-house, upmarket with new V8 for upcoming Esprit?

Report: Lotus to turbocharge new Esprit into UK's fastest supercar?

Rumours and speculation abound, but it's certainly a thing.

I want Toyota back in it, with some kind of modern day GT-One. Too bad they're too busy d*cking around with hybrids.

They are going to dick around at Le Mans with a gasoline hybrid by the look of things.

Having spent all the money they have in their halo technology, not using it in a halo car, in a halo race would be certainly silly.
