I love this car. It blows any other performance sedan out of the water (at least on paper)

Yes, Yes, Yes, and some would even say the Lexus IS F and the Pontiac G8 GXP.

No, it's because it's so low you can't even drive over a speed bump, much less take on the Nuerburgring. Probably understeer like mad.

I love the car. It seems to meld classy and sporty very well much like the M5 and the AMG line mercedes. Some people may still think that Cadillac is an old person brand, but this new car screams performance. I look forward to getting a face to face look at one.

I think other performance sedans still have an edge in practicality, I'm not sure many prestige performance car customers want to be crawling through a roll cage each morning...
Horsepower wins races. Torque pulls trailers.

It's not that they did it, it's that people fill the need to compare a modified CTS-V to its stock German competitors. When we get a 'Ring time of a stock CTS-V, then I'll like to see how it did.

apart from the seat, harness, fire extinguisher and rollcage, the caddy is stock, it even did the time with an auto, so i don't know why you think it's modified.

It's just a honest expectation - when any car is being driven 10/10ths around the Ring it's only a legal requirement.

The Video You've Been Waiting To See

    By Ed

We just came back from Germany. As promised, here's the video of John Heinricy's sub-8 minute lap of the Nurburgring's Nordschleife.

To clarify, the car had no performance or operational modifications outside of what we intend to offer in production. We did have a couple of customary safety precautions, as the first goal of our testing is always to keep drivers like John safe. The car had a harness bar upon which a 6-way racing safety belt system was mounted. We also had a fire supression unit on board. These things add a little bit of weight to the car, certainly not helping performance any. Stock tires, too.

We had a chance to mount some cameras on the car and had the benefit of a beautiful day. Enjoy.

It's very fast no doubt but it's still a pre-production model which can have setup changes that could compromise its real world driving qualities.

However giving that margin, looks like it can be faster than an M5 on a racetrack but don't forget the M5 lacks 50hp compared to it...
