Key words in the statement are "radical" and "extremist"...A "radical" anything is not good. The bottom line here is that if you can respect others, others will respect you back and you shouldn't have any trouble. If you go bombing stuff (or sponsor bombing stuff) because people don't think like you do, they will surely kick you out of the country... and I think they have all the right to do it too.

I don’t believe religion has any part in government so I accept that Sharia law is not for Australians. I don’t support this statement either however.

    Most Australians believe in God.

I will also take issue with this.

This is not some Christian, right wing, political push, but a fact, because Christian men and women, on Christian principles, founded this nation, and this is clearly documented.

Peter Costello, Australia’s treasurer, is a supporter of The Hillsong Church which is one of those all in happy clapper jobs. This church has the support of John Howard and other Liberals. There were accusations after the 2004 elections that the Liberal candidate (a Hillsong member) played on the fact that the Labour candidate was a Muslim. Her constituency was full of Hillsong members.

If God offends you then I suggest you consider another part of the world as your new home, because God is part of our culture."

What should I do? God doesn’t offend me but the people who create their own truths in the name of god do. I was born here and so were my parents. One grandmother was English, one grandfather was born in South Africa and the other two grandparents were born here also. Which part of the world do I go to?

    I hadn't noticed this.

"Most Australians believe in God. This is not some Christian, right wing, political push, but a fact, because Christian men and women, on Christian principles, founded this nation, and this is clearly documented.
These "Christians" that founded Australia spent ~150 years killing Aboriginals then taking their children. That's not exactly Christian.

It is certainly appropriate to display it on the walls of our schools.
Christian schools, yes. Public schools, no. They are supposed to be secular and were started as such.

If God offends you then I suggest you consider another part of the world as your new home, because God is part of our culture."
Clearly the writer doesn't know a whole lot about religion, as Muslims and Christians actually pray to the same God. God clearly doesn't offend Muslims, that's why they're Muslim, not Nihilists. They believe in God, and practice a religion accordingly.

Remember when that Fundamentalist Christian attacked a country for no reason and plunged it into civil war?

I think one thing that has been overlooked is that in alot of cases where people are being prosecuted for a crime e.g. the gang-rape cases that happend in Australia recently, the assailants immediately put there hands up saying they where being treated unfairly because they where Muslim irrespective of what they had done. Now does someone who, commits a horrific crime, who also does not in the first place live by any of the virtues of the religion and simply gives others who are of that denomination a bad name deserve any favour?

I mean how often do you see a steriotype Aussie, American, English person, etc. who has commited a serious crime jumping up and down about their unfair treatment because they are of Catholic faith??

Basically, as quick as we all are to persecute those based on religion, we also get the other extreme by which they attempt to use religion as a means of defense...

    I hate these.

Christian Identity is a label applied to a wide variety of loosely-affiliated groups and churches with a racialized theology. Most of them promote a Euro-centric version of Christianity. Their key commonality is British Israelism theology, which teaches that white Europeans are the literal descendants of the Israelites through the ten tribes that were taken away into captivity by the armies of Assyria. Furthermore, the teaching holds that these (White European) Israelites are still God's Chosen People.
There is no single document that expresses the Christian Identity belief system. Adherents draw on arguments from linguistic, historical, archaeological and Biblical sources to support their beliefs. There are from 2,000 to 50,000 adherents of these groups in the United States of America and an unknown number in Canada and the rest of the Commonwealth (former British Empire).
A relatively new tenet gaining popularity among some radical Christian Identity believers justifies the use of violence if it is perpetrated in order to punish violators of God's law
    (Sound familiar?)
, as found in the Bible and interpreted by Christian Identity ministers and adherents. This includes killing interracial couples, abortionists, prostitutes and homosexuals, burning pornography stores, and robbing banks and perpetrating frauds to undermine the usury system.

The statistics on sanity are that one out of every four Americans is suffering from some form of mental illness. Think of your three best friends. If they're okay, then it's you.

They should be aloud to sing the anthem in any language they want. They didn't want to change it to spanish and get rid of the English one.

It's the only time I have EVER agreed with George Bush.

I find the irony in an immigrant asking to sing a country's national anthem in their own language pretty funny actually.

    Either sing it or don't.

Hey its not like they're singing the Mexican Anthem, They're singing the Starspagled banner or whatever and they should be able to do it in whatever language they want.
