I'd much rather a Fiero that looks like a Fiero than a Fiero that looks like a Ferrari.

And yes, I'd much prefer to have half a mill to spend on the real deal. Cars are made to be driven, I'd never buy a classic and then seal it up in a garage. I'd drive it damn carefully, but I'd drive it.

I know some of you aren't huge fans of kit cars, but...... Here is the dream car you could actually buy. ($55,000) looks fantabulous, it has a real shifter unlike those rediculou paddle shifters and It won't break your wallet when it comes to repairs

I'm pretty sure you could find the real thing for that much.

I know you think kit cars are having your cake and eating it too, but they really aren't.
Replicas, like the Westfield XI, exist in a bit of a gray area because they attempt to stay true to the mechanical spirit, these do not.

Actually if you buy a $70,000 Diablo you can expect to spend another $70,000on repairs and maintenance. I think a lot of people don't understand how much it costs to maintain these rare cars due to the limited production of the parts used to make these cars. The replicas actually use parts that are easier to get, and you can work on them yourself

I'm not saying it is for everyone. If you can afford to maintain a real Lamborghini, then by all means, more power to you! but for those of us who make under $250,000 per year, this is one of the only options. Me personally, would buy a Lotus Esprit due to the low cost in maintaining one. They use a lot of parts from other cars so they aren't so bad comparted to italian supers...

I don't want a car that's pretending to be something else. I could go out and pretend to be James Bond, but I still live in a crappy little studio apartment. I'd rather have a $70K car than a $70K fake, basically.

If this is what the seller considers "great shape", I hesitate to see what he considers bad.
I'm dropping out to create a company that starts with motorcycles, then cars, and forty years later signs a legendary Brazilian driver who has a public and expensive feud with his French teammate.

Pretty typical of the tupperware exotic crowd, and if that's not enough to dissuade, the seller's breathlessly inane copy should.

I thought that was fire damage at first.
