I've never not enjoyed being behind the wheel of a BMW 3 Series.

The 320si seems very cool. Carbon fiber bits in the engine area? Now thats for sure something you don't see everyday

This. I'd even write BMW alone.

I couldn't enjoy being behind the wheel of an X6M, I'd be too busy hating myself and looking for a bridge to drive off. Other than that though, yea. It's probably tops, given it's kind of the road version of the touring car.
Life's too short to drive bad cars.

I think the 35d one of the best engines BMW make, in the new 535d it has 299 bhp and still manages 46 mpg.

I've only driven hatchbacks, saloons and coupes from them.

yes with that 8spd tranny. the 35d is really amazing with the power it offers, how smooth and quiet it is and efficient.

My dad is thinking about buying a BMW 1 series, he wants it for the fuel effciency as his 206sw with 140bhp only does 35mpg. I want him to get the BMW 120d it does 61mpg and has 177bhp

if he gets 35 mpg from the Pug, getting 61 from the BMW is slightly optimistic. I guess 45 might be closer to the real figure.
