    "golf tee" trick

so i hear all about this but i cant find any instructions on how to do it. all i know is that you plug up a vacuum near your exhaust so that at lower RPM's (2500) you get a low grumble. I'm horrible at searching. i hear it most on E36 style BMW's. I think its only on BMW's though. its called the "golf tee" trick or mod.

    thanks in advance

How does one maintain a vacuum near an exhaust pipe while driving?

from the video I just looked up, it sounded like a raspy v8. Like a coffee can exhaust I4 combined with a good v8.

I'd just get a new exhaust, do a custom job if you want to save money and have the ability.

Edit: Exhaust questions - bimmerfest - BMW Forums found you a link to a how to

    yeah I can understand that.

It sort of makes me wonder what performance would be like on the low end afterwards since there'd be a loss in back pressure.
