    Lola T290

This fine example I photographed at the 2009 Historic Sportscar Racing Mitty Speedfest at Road Atlanta.

The car is a 1972 2 litre Lola T290 and belongs to Bobby Rahal... the famous race driver/team owner. He happened to be driving this car and his open wheel formula car at the event and I had a chat with him...he was very nice...but as he and his mechanic were buttoning up the car for their run I kept it short.

I did ask him which of the two cars he liked flogging the best and he said, 'The Lola, I love the 2 litre cars.'

Yeah he is a real enthusiast and knows his cars. I think he owns quite a few cars that he raced early in his career.
If you should see a man walking down a crowded street talking aloud to himself, don't run in the opposite direction, but run towards him, because he's a poet. You have nothing to fear from the poet - but the truth.

A proper sports prototype if I ever saw one.
Buying a car and not driving it is like buying a meal and not eating it.

I wasn't sure if I'd missed any Group 44 cars there...it appears I didn't....there was only one XJR which i did shoot. Not sure if it's a 7 or 8 though.
