    Acura ARX-02A LMP1 2009

    Acura ARX-02A LMP1 2009

Acura's new LMP1 challenger, the ARX-02A was unveiled today at Sebring during the ALMS' annual official winter test. The car features several innovations in terms of design, and in overcoming the new aerodynamic regulations. All in all, the car look absolutely stunning! The car features a 4.0L normally aspirated V8. A few of the areas that are particularly unique are the fact that the car uses rear sized wheels at all 4 corner. The rear wing's uprights are also a very interesting design. The very high, and narrow nose along with the "shark gills" on the side pods also look great. The only area it doesn't look spectacular is the new ACO mandated narrower rear wing.

2 of the new Acuras will compete in the full ALMS season in 2009. Patron Highcroft Racing will employ David Brabham, Scott Sharp, with 2007 IRL champ, Dario Francitti joining them for the endurance races. de Ferran Motorsports will enter the 2nd car with Gil de Ferran and Simon Pagenaud pulling driving duties with 2008 IRL champion Scott Dixon coming in for the enduros.

Sorry if I cannot express myself correctly, but I don't know English as good as I want, so my answers will probably be the same in many cases.

It looks awsome, i love the front.

Stupid question maybe: will they race at LeMans and if so, with the Acura name or Honda?

They do have "aspiration" and "dream" to race at Le Mans. HPD guy Erik Berkman has said this several times. But unless Acura starts selling cars in Europe, I don't unfortunately see this happening.

rebadging it as a Honda would solve that problem...

    Thanks.

So this is a full NA Acura effort, doesn't Honda have a saying in this?
They could race them here like Hondas.

Despite that HPD means Honda Performance Development, it is still Acura motorsports program. HPD also does IndyCar and some other activities in US. Rebadging it has Honda probably sounds easier than it is.

racing the cars for 6 races in Europe might be too much of a strain. (More cars, more people, logistics)
