    Artega GT 2009-2012

The Artega GT is a high-performance sports car offering universal usability. State-of-the-art components from renowned manufacturers in addition with the groundbreaking control concept of paragon AG – the Artega GT combines pure driving dynamics with innovative electronics.

The Artega® GT puts you in the passing lane to the future. Breathtaking design, technological innovation, contemporary proportions – the new German sports car promises pure indulgence whatever the occasion. As this new brand’s first car, the Artega® GT exemplifies skill, passion and inspiration – which are the core values of Artega®. This completely original vehicle concept is unmistakably apparent in the car’s relationship of weight to power and in its dimensions: as short as a compact, as wide as a luxury limousine and as low as a supersportscar. Even the rich interior is nothing less than compelling with its superb components from renowned manufacturers and innovative cockpit systems from paragon® AG. As this new brand’s first car, the Artega® GT is something definitely worth discovering.

From the very first glance, you’ll instantly know that the Artega® GT is where passion for sports cars and love of detail are united in a very special way. And when you take a closer look the fascination only becomes greater. Lightweight construction throughout, cutting-edge drive technologies and unlimited versatility – the Artega® GT fits perfectly in our day and age when it comes to both safety and the environment. Unencumbered by a brand history, the new German sports car truly embodies the future of the automobile. The Artega® GT is a trend setter and not just for car enthusiasts. That this two-seater touring sports car is remarkably suited for everyday driving is just one way you’ll discover how inviting the Artega® GT’s allure really is.

Exceptional things enjoy a magic attraction. The Artega® GT conveys its unmistakable message straight up and with no need for flaunting. Its distinctive appearance is sure to make every heart beat faster. Graceful contours created by celebrated designer Henrik Fisker reinforce the unison of form and function, while a user-friendly cockpit in the style of a high-end HiFi system only adds to how good it feels inside. And its awesome acceleration makes the fun of driving the new German sports car complete. The message is clear:This automobile is an irresistible enrichment to the world of sports cars. And there’s a lot more to the Artega® GT’s appeal than just outstanding performance!

There are still many who only look at horsepower when sizing up a sports car’s performance. Let the Artega® GT extend your horizons. The key here is the power-to-weight ratio. Its 3.6 liter direct injection V6 from the Volkswagen Group gives the Artega® GT a 300-horse engine that delivers high mileage and low emissions. Its remarkably modest weight of only about 1,100 kg, combined with a displacement of 3,597 ccm, lends the car the kind of agility you’ll find nowhere else. The incomparable six-speed direct-shift gearbox accommodates both performance driving and everyday motoring. And it does it all in concert with protecting the environment and conserving resources. After all, social responsibility and approval are important to us.

World-class automotive performance and ecological demands don’t have to be mutually exclusive – at least when you dedicate enough room for tomorrow in your vehicle concept. The efficient use of aluminum and highstrength steels, and a body made of carbon-fiber reinforced composites are what give the Artega® GT such a super power-to-weight ratio. Not to mention how perfect the engineering concept is when it comes down to the details: a single wheel weighs less than 10 kg. This new light air of gracefulness also does its part for a clean tomorrow. But that’s not all: The Artega® GT production plant stresses resource conservation in all its operations. We even apply the strictest environmental standards when procuring parts and components. Here the cachet “Made in Germany“ is your guarantee of added safety.

Low weight must never come at the expense of safety. Highly effective crash modules at the front and rear, along with a steel sideimpact-protection system help safeguard the driver and passenger should the unthinkable occur. Two full-size front and side airbags round out an excellent array of passive-safety features. The latest driver assistance systems, including ABS, actively ensure occupant comfort, safety and convenience. The ASP Artega® Stability Program and the traction control TC are also integrated as standard equipment*. These let you choose from four drive program settings: Normal (ASP with early intervention, TC on), Sport (ASP with later intervention,TC on), Race (ASP off,TC on) and Off (ASP off, TC off) – allowing you keep everything in the right perspective.

Even the cockpit of the Artega® GT tells you it’s never too early for a trip to the future. Sweeping control and driver-information systems, exclusively engineered and manufactured by the electronics specialist paragon® AG, include numerous world premières. Among its outstanding features is the dual-indicator instrument that displays speed and rpms on one axis. Or the way navigation information are projected on the inside mirror. Other displays* that you can configure the way you want in the dashboard, and entirely new kinds of sensor switches underscore the individual character of the car and make things easy to manage and operate. Cockpit systems from paragon® bring the free-spirited profile of the Artega® GT to perfection.

The new automotive production plant at the company’s headquarters in Delbrück/Westphalia is pursuing a straightforward strategy. Here on 4,000 m2 of space is where the ultimate in industrial processes for small-series production are being put in place. It’s no coincidence that the Artega® GT is not being mass produced, but crafted instead using the stringent quality standards of large-scale manufacturers. Capacity is designed to enable up to 500 units per year to be built during its first stage of completion. Directly connected to the body and final assembly lines is the worldwide brand and sales center, the home of the Artega® brand. In addition to a spacious exhibition hall, there is a restaurant, a store and information about the brand’s history – all of which provides the kind of diversity that inspires again and again.

I thought it was more like..."Look at how light we can build a chassis."

Not a good effort if you ask me, all that metal could be some kind of composite...

well the lower part is of aluminium, and considering the tag price, a composite chassis probably was out of possibilities. i am very surprised of the tiny superior part though, i thought it was of a bigger thickness. considering that the car is light and, in order to be a sport car, has a good stifness, i'm happy to see it. i was a little scarred by the dimensions of the pillars in the new cars.

I think that´s one hell of a cool car. Not only good looking, but also good amount of sporty genes, as well as a very experienced staff with former Maserati CEO Karl-Heinz Kalbfell behind it.

It looks pretty good in my opinion, but very similar to the Farbio GTS - http://www.ultimatecarpage.com/forum...arged-gts.html

I think I prefer the Farbio though, as it seems a bit sharper and more purposeful in styling terms. The Artega looks a little bit too rounded and soft around the edges for a performance car.

    Whats the price tag?
My Dads GTM Libra has a GRP Monocoque Chassis, the only piece of metal is for the top seatbelt mount which is bonded into the GRP. Thats a super stiff monocoque design too. The GTM Libra has been involved in lots of heavy shunts and even had an SUV sitting on its roof and none have given way yet. The car cost £250,000 to develop and a factory built option was £16,000 when my Dad built his.

I just remembered that a member of TeamGTM is building a car based on the GTM Coupe but it will look like this car.

Suka, have you got pictures of your dad's GTM? I'm looking for any high-res shots of Libra for years...

Ah...would be great a car in general + interior and engine. But don't bother if you don't have enough time - after some years of waiting I can wait a bit more
    Yep, and thanks
