Last week we were in Essen for the 30th annual Techno Classica. With around 1,250 exhibitors and more than 200 club displays, it is definitely the largest in-door classic car show in the world. While it seemed that every other car in the 14 halls of the Messe Essen were either a Porsche 911 or a Gullwing Mercedes-Benz, there were some other interesting cars on display as well. These ranged from the new continuation Aston Martin DB4 GT to the Rondeau that holds the record for the single most Le Mans starts and the turbine engined Howmet TX. We explored the vast exhibition centre to capture the highlights that are featured in our 220-shot gallery, which serves to illustrate our concise report.
Today, the doors opened of the New York International Auto Show. This opportunity was used to introduce several high performance versions of existing models. These included the 550hp Jaguar F-Pace SVR, which is the new range topping model of Jaguar's SUV range.
Mercedes-AMG showcased the V8 version of the recently revised C-Class in the form of this C 63 S Coupe. It is powered by the familiar twin-turbo V8 that produces 510 hp in the most powerful 'S' trim.
Built specifically for the North American market, Audi have created this RS 5 Sportback. Like the coupe version, the Sportback's twin turbo V6 is good for 450 hp.
