Yep, saw this early this morning. Bummer.

He always seemed to be on amphetamines, I wonder if he did use something like that and if it played a role in his death.
He came dancing across the water
    With his galleons and guns
    Looking for the new world
In that palace in the sun
    On the shore lay Montezuma
With his cocoa leaves and pearls

can the lesser educated (probably those not from the USA) be informed about Billy's claim to fame?
    But whoever he is/was, RIP.

He was an infomercial spokesperson. Kind of a cult figure amongst the young.

He was kind of famous because he was in nearly every infomercial there was, you really had to have just seen them to get the underground celebrity aspect.

What is a TV-Pitchman? I know about anchormen, but....and is "infomercial" similar to "advertorial"?

My mom hated that guy, couldn't stand the fact that he shouted everything. I always thought it was entertaining how many different products he advertised.

Similar yes, but like one person talking about a product and showing it in use rather than some pictures/videos and a narrator.

I thought he was great and it is very sad that he died. But now he's selling his products to the angels.
