    Yet another GTR flaw.

Are you freaking kidding me....this is so dumb!!!!

"Drooling over the new Nissan GT-R? Can't wait to get one out on the track and see what she can do? Not so fast, hot shot! Apparently, the new GT-R's built-in navigation system knows the location of popular race tracks, and will void your warranty if you set a tire on the track. As you enter a known circuit, a nagging navi voice will let you know you're about to make one seriously expensive driving choice. Way to go Nissan, this is Big Brother on a whole new level! And I thought Mitsubishi's SCCA spies were an all-time low! " -Cardomain

    Article Detail

"A Japanese journalist reportedly had the following experience when test driving a pre-release model of the GT-R. As he approached the main entry gate of Suzuka International Circuit, the car’s GPS-equipped computer warned him in a pleasant voice that once he entered the circuit, the car’s warranty would be voided.

The navigation screen then gave him an "Accept" screen, requiring him to push "Accept" to get rid of the voice. After a couple more times, the voice issued a final warning that the vehicle was recording his driving habits and any damage done to the vehicle at the circuit would not be covered under the new-car warranty at a Nissan dealership."

After reading that...I would never buy this car. What is Nissan doing? Do they want people to drive the car or not?

If you can afford this car. And you can afford to track it. You can afford, or have the knowledge and ability, to fix it when it breaks.

But I wanna jump on the LOL GTR SUXOR bandwagon. So...

    LOL GTR SUXOR

that is pretty retarded for a performance orientated car...especially one claiming to target the 911. i understand insurance being void, but warranty?

edit: wait, what was the other flaws?

the other flaw was a top speed limited to 111mph...which makes no sense for a "performance orientated car...especially one claiming to target the 911"

some argued with me on that one...and I understand...but now you cant even do it on the track without losing the warranty...which is doubly retarded

dont get me wrong I think the car is sweet looking and has alot of great power...but they shouldnt be doing this to the car

    So... what's wrong?

The 2002-ish WRX came with a SCCA membership even though it would void the warranty. I'm also pretty sure that Porsche would also void your warranty if you took it racing.
I'm dropping out to create a company that starts with motorcycles, then cars, and forty years later signs a legendary Brazilian driver who has a public and expensive feud with his French teammate.

Doubtful since PCA sponsors very popular driver's ed events. If Porsche voided your warranty if you went on track, I doubt I would see any under-warranty Porsches there.

Question: Is the nav system standard? And even if it is, since many fanboys of the GT-R mod them, couldn't you take the nav system out?

One could argue that this almost promotes street racing as well.

Yeah this is a little bit homo if you ask me. Then again seeing it from Nissan's perspective, they're not gonna pay to fix your car if you're gonna take it to the track because chances are you're gonna do good damage to it and they're not cool with that. I think it's more of a crashing thing that they're worried about because it'd be a mess to fix a GTR if it slams into a wall upwards of 120mph.. I don't think they'd have anything against the actual speed you're going at though because that'd be a little bit hypocritical of them considering they advertise the car to be as fast as the 911 Turbo. I mean, if i buy a 911 Turbo i'm not buying it to drive it to the supermarket, and if i do take it to the supermarket rest assured i'll get there worryingly fast.

*** BTW if my mom rolled up to do the shopping in a GTR i'd have the most hardcore mom out there .
