Its interesting to note those that dont know about the car jump on the "its boring to drive" bandwagon (or any of the other wagons). Where real enthusists can accept the car for what it is.

I want to jump on that wagon.

I find it hard to believe you've driven one. After several hours at the wheel on winding, undulating roads at speed, boring isn't one of the adjectives that came to my mind. Definately fun in small doses or given enough space to explore it's limits. As I suggested, it isn't COMFORTABLE, but that's something any enthusiast will deal with as needed when driving a performance car. It's missing some things, and has too many others (weight!) but I must say it's potential will be realized by the tuners itching to do some magic. Check out the new Autoweek... the photo on page 22 is also by Mark Elias.
The website my friend's post is at: Review: 2009 Nissan GT-R
As I said, he writes/shoots for several outlets. I didn't realize what this website was... it's definately a pump-piece. I guess it makes sense to not bite the hand that... well, you know. Anyway, the pix are cool. The bald guy behind the wheel is me.
One more personal photo of a great old-school Okeechobee lunch spot- patty melts and sweet tea.

Does Mark Elias know about the Ferrari Daytona? (rear wheel drive transaxle) or does he mean something else.
Nice review otherwise.

Oh yeah... forgot to clarify the differential issue. I was wrong, there is no center-split, it's the rear transaxle that deals with torque split. The throttle control delay/tip-in is a safety. It's odd at first but it's not wrong.
And another thing, particularly directed to Bleeding Heart and his real-men-drive-cars-without-ACS-TC-WXYZ: yes, the Nissan GTR has several computer controls. Wanna get in over yer pointy head? Turn them off.
It won't be boring, bubba.

I think he was quoting from Nissan's PR materials, Henk... this type of review isn't intended to be critical. They pay for the coverage, after all.
I thought about my personal impressions some more and came up with one descriptive sentence about this car: It's a heavyweight boxer banned from competition after accidentally killing a guy in a non-title bout, working off his days as the doorman in an uncomfortable suit at an Atlantic City casino.
'Nuff said.
