I'm not saying the T908 isn't a good truck but I think (not saying I'm right) the most they are rated at is 130 tons, which is pitiful next to a Mack Titan which is rated at 240 tons. To anyone who owns cattle in Australia, if you're moving a road train with 180+ head on board you'll take the Titan every time. Plus getting parts and service for them in country areas is a LOT easier - in my opinion.

Only in Australia (and America, but for some reason, there isn't there) could there be road trains.

I would love to see one - I think they are awesome.

They are a bit awesome, but they make little sense when you could use rail more efficiently to move freight. Interesting to overtake too, given most country roads are still single lane each way affairs.

What he said. Also in some states we do allow rigs with 2 trailers, but only on freeways and they are smaller than standard trailers so that the total isn't a whole lot bigger than a single trailer right at the size limit.

Problem is Australia does not have a very extensive rail system and road trains make a lot more sense that one trailer per truck. They must make a lot of sense coz there is a lot of them.

Good point.. there's a lot of children with not much to do, and they're cheap! Also, replacing them is fun, so they're expendable.
