The Audi R8 LMS R16 was the first Race car built by Audi Sport for Customer use. Audi Sport along with Team Raeder Motorsport have developed the next Audi Customer Car aimed at the VLN series. The Audi TT RS race car. The car will debut before the end of the year.

Während die DTM in Hockenheim startet, bekommt zeitgleich das mit dem Audi R8 LMS initiierte Kundensport-Programm der AUDI AG möglicherweise Zuwachs: Bei den letzten beiden Läufen der Langstreckenmeisterschaft Nürburgring am 16. und 30. Oktober startet das Team Raeder Motorsport in der Klasse SP 4T mit dem Prototyp eines Audi TT RS, der gemeinschaftlich von der Technischen Entwicklung (TE) und der Produktion der AUDI AG sowie der quattro GmbH entwickelt wird. Bei den Testeinsätzen wird das Fahrzeug, das die Speerspitze eines möglichen modularen Kundensport-Konzepts auf TT-Basis darstellt, von Marc Hennerici und Christopher Mies pilotiert. Audi reagiert damit auf die große Nachfrage der Kunden, den TT und andere Fahrzeuge der Marke im Motorsport einsetzen zu können.

Der Prototyp hat einen Fünfzylinder-TFSI-Motor. Er weist rennspezifische Neuentwicklungen in den Bereichen Karosserie, Fahrwerk und Aerodynamik auf. Zudem konnte das Projekt-Team im Sinne maximaler Synergien einige Teile aus dem R8 LMS übernehmen.

Successful debut of the Audi TT RS

VLN: The new Audi TT RS, which may possibly extend the Audi customer sport program in the future, made a successful debut. Christoph Breuer, Marc Hennerici and Christopher Mies achieved a much-noted eighth place overall and victory in the SP 4T class at the ninth round of the Endurance Championship. On its first laps on the legendary Nürburgring-Nordschleife the prototype fielded by the Raeder Motorsport team, which is jointly developed by the Technical Development (TE) and Production divisions of AUDI AG and quattro GmbH, immediately ran without the slightest technical problem.
