Ahead of the official launch in Geneva next week, British specialist manufacturer Ginetta have released further details and images of the upcoming but yet to be named Supercar. The front-engined sports car is inspired by the company's current LMP1 car and the mighty V8-engined G10 from 1965. Like the G10, the new Supercar is powered by a naturally aspirated V8 engine, which in this cases displaces 6 litres and produces in excess of 600bhp. It is mounted in a carbon-fibre monocoque chassis with push-rod actuated in-board suspension that is directly derived from Ginetta's prototype racing cars. Priced at GBP 400,000, production of the new Ginetta Supercar will begin 2020 and production for that model year is limited to just 20 examples.
Another new release due in Geneva is the Spyder version of the recently announced Lamborghini Huracan EVO. Like its fixed-head sister, the new drop-top is powered by a 630bhp evolution of the familiar V10 engine. The Huracan EVO Spyder also features all the sophisticated technology like rear-wheel steering and four-wheel torque vectoring introduced on the coupe.
The all-electric arm of Volvo, Polestar have announced the 2, which is aimed squarely at the Tesla Model 3. Based on the Volvo Car group's compact modular platform, the Polestar 2 features an all-wheel drive electric powertrain that is good for a combined 408bhp and 660Nm of torque.
Nissan, meanwhile, offered the first glimpse of the upcoming IMQ Concept, while Mercedes-AMG are due to launch the latest GLE 53 4MATIC+ at the Swiss show.
