True, but not in the league of American culture. You as a Canadian have to agree. I was speaking to a Canadian who lived in America about hockey a few weeks ago and he found it quite funny that in Canada they have part of the highlight programme (program if your a yank) devoted to the punch-ups, but ironically in violent America this is censored.

    100%.
But like you Canucks, us Europeans can shine that light on ourselves and regularly DO and take the piss.
HEAVEN forbid you openly slag off USA to some
( how long till first post response to THAT ? )
cough, cough ... Glenn Beck Does he REALLY think the founding fathers were the saints he portrays, talk about selective history !! Oopps, if he reads this he'll no doubt break into tears and tell us how much he LOVES his country and what it stands for

We're the country that used foam puppets to deliver "Spitting Image" whereas the rest had "Sesame St"

Rogers Sportsnet Connected (which I currently have on right now) every Friday I believe has the hockey fights of the week.

    It's fabulous.

Concerning what Matra said, I suppose Canadians do make fun of themselves and get made fun of by others and accept it a lot. It's all good.

Back to hockey fights, I believe that the best play in all sports (second best being a huge linebacker running very slowly for a TD) is a goalie fight. When you think of it, it is so bizarre. How could one goalie be mad at another? It makes no sense - but when goalies fight I am so happy.

Really? I've never seen fights censored or taken off the highlights. We're the home of the UFC for petes sake. This si the same UFC that's to violent for japanese markets where pride (which allowed stomping on a downed opponents head) is a family show.

Hey, don't blame us for Glen Beck and we'll refrain from saying you're all Man U fans just looking for a riot to participate in.

I could say "same island same country"... but I suppose we could all be civil. Besides, it would just be wrong.

Quite possibly. I'm amazed it hasn't happened sooner, to be honest.
