I like this car as well. Make mine a HEMI - black with tinted windows, standard rims will do. Of course, no 26" inch rims or other added crap please.

Somehow it's funny that only European UCPers are giving positive comments to this car...

I'm in the "yes, please" camp too. I like the fact that new 300 is ultra conservative. There is no kinetic design revolution, flaming surfaces or concave shapes nonsense.

Simple box with V8 and RWD. What is there not to like?

The bland front end. And the fact that a bit of design evolution wouldn't have had a negative effect... rwd is fine, but if I were in the market for this, i would see no reason to buy this over a Charger.

I like the 300C, just not in diesel guise.

The G8 only failed because GM wanted to save Buick for China.

I think the G8 failed in part because Pontiac was a dead brand even before the plug was pulled. Also, it was an expensive car and gas prices aren't 2002-2003 cheap right now. Back then I couldn't imagine owning a car that cost more than $15 to fill up. Spending $35 to fill up a tank was crazy! No pickups for me! Well now I spend upwards of $45 for a tank and thanks to the ethanol in the gas I don't get the mileage I used to. The G8 wasn't a guzzler but it wasn't thrifty either. It also wasn't cheap (a sad requirement to sell Pontiacs in the end, good car or not). The G8 likely would have sold well ten years earlier. However, it never really had a chance to get a foot in the door before the Pontiac house burned down.
That said, we are getting a version of the same car as a Chevy Police car. Perhaps we will see it return as a passenger car as well.

Exactly. There's no need to be different just for the sake of being different.

If it works, don't change it.

It's one of those things that has been discussed in a few threads of late.
When looked at in a vacuum; box with wheels, RWD, and a V8 it sounds like a great formula. Yet, despite most American gearheads lusting after the Falcon and Commodore, which stick to similar principals, we reject the 300C because of our experiences with its drivers.

The late-great ozzycarnut was actually quite blinded by this regarding his homegrown rear-driving barges.

If everyone did that though, you almost couldn't drive anything interesting.
