I dont realy understand why they went against the traditional vantage design for the latest one, the Vantage V600 (2nd design) was perfect, and at 600hp could rip the clothes of your girlfriend as you pull out of the drive. Now theyve labelled the new one as the 'baby' aston and made it small, and changed its design totally, its an insult realy. The vantage should be the 'ultimate' aston in my view.

Hey guys I see you love this car (I do too), well there is a 1995 Twin Blower Vantage for sale. 95k € and it's yours.

This is the last oldschool Aston... the came the Vanquish with the silly gearbox and the (earlier) "Aston Martin XJS DB7"... so respect for this oldschool all british Aston Martin supercar.

I agree, the Vantage should be above the Vanquish in the AM line-up. Fell in luv with the 2nd Vantage first time i saw it..then I saw the original and... it's one hell of an amazing car...I can't believe this new car is called the Vantage..I mean it's not bad for a small AM but needs a different name IMO

The name "Vantage" only refers to a specific car with the new V8 Vantage.

Before now the name "Vantage" just refered to a higher powered version of an existing car.

Hence the DB2 became the DB2 Vantage, DB4 became the DB4 Vantage, DB5 became the DB5 Vantage....

There are Vantage versions of the following:
    DB2
    DB4
    DB5
    DB6
    DBS
    V8 (1977)
    Virage
    V8 Coupe (1992)
    DB7

It was probably the prospect of the Vanquish Volante Vantage that made them think that the addition of a simple "S" did the job much better.
    Thanks for all the fish

Yes for sales reason probably a 1-litre diesel with about 10bhp... "Aston Martin sitckers available with the VVV package... and also two paddles to attach to your steering wheel..."

    1975 Aston Martin V8 Vantage

I honestly don't think there is a single car ever built that I would rather have.
