soooo nice. ive seen one alaso, in fact, i WASHED IT. My school had this huge car wash last summer, and we had the pleasure of washing this beast (not this exact one, ours was red). it was sooo sweet
Sorry to check, but do you know it was a real GT40 ?Originally Posted by 288 GTO

The usual give-away is that ONLY the original GT40 is actually 40 uinches high. All the kits I know of are 1 to 1 1/2" taller to give some headroom.

ive heard that they werent 40 inches high. ive heard the mark 1 was 39.8 mark 2 was 40.1 and the mark three was 40.9 i could be wrong

Geez how people change, A V8 Ford -Matras favourite car?.......nooooooooooooooooo, say it aint so lol, hehe well i guess i was wrong, I thought people like Matra would never look at a V8 twice, I mean its the same thing as me going out and buying a 4 cylinder or a rotary LLOoOoLLL, oh Hang on , thats right i just bought ann rx7, oh and i also own a nissan Pulsar too eheh oops! =-P
Dang i should really go to bed, it wasnt Matras post at all, sheeesh, ahwell goodnight lol
Well their is a NZ company that make as close as you can get to exact replicas...and they are suprisngly cheap too...and are availble in lhd...they mesure the same 40 inches as the car...
Also ehre at wakefield park there was a guy in a GT40 replica who was attempting to break the terminal speed record of wakefield park....i dont think he got it but he did get the best time there and decimated the subaru WRX a skyline and a whole shit load of shelby cobra replicas and other GT40s...there was even a Datsun Stanza with a SR20DET engine in it....
Yep i reckon there the next best thing after a ferrari or a lamborghini, Love the style, i heard it goes pretty quick too.

I saw a Red GT40 replica when I was walking to work at 10 to 6 in the morning last summer.
Probably the only time I have been glad to be up that early
I was a bit dissapointed that he didn't give it any stick coming out of a slow corner onto a straight, empty road, I don't think I could be that restrained
Thanks for all the fish
The biggest give away is if you take a look at the tax disc! I have seen so many Ferrari's that say Toyota MR2 on the tax disc.

"We used to come down, doing about 180mph. We take off over the bridge and change down to 4th gear in the air. Go through the righthander with the car drifting, and let it swing out through the lefthander and then slide out to the wall, where we simply stopped it with a flick of the wrists"
