    The ultimate driving "tool"?

My definition of a dream car, is a car that

    - can defeat all opponents under (my) normal driving conditions: Winding country roads with the occasional half a mile straights, and tarmac ranging from perfect to poor.
    - retains superiority regardless of weather conditions: Sun, rain, wind or snow.
    - is reliable enough to go 60 miles a day, 365 days a year with a minimum of maintenance, whether the thermometer shows -25°C or +35°C.
    - has A/C, a decent defroster and a stereo, but not necessarily al lot of other gizmos and luxuries.

Considering these preferences, which car would you have chosen, given that the price was irrelevant?

Subaru Impreza WRX is one car that springs to mind, BMW M3 another but I’m not sure either one of them are the perfect choice.

McLaren F1, unless you need more than 3 people in a car. In which case, 2ndclass has hit the nail.

Rarely snows here so I still stand by MY word I'm also still standing by Audi. It's more civilised than everything that has come from AMG, and it is built a bit better too. Better interiors and exteriors.

The Evo and WRX are the only cars that come close to fitting your "With minimum maintenance" requirement. An MX-5 with the folding metal roof would be my choice; fun, reliable, proper roof to keep the weather out and you can spend the rest on a recovery truck if you try to race in any car along winding roads in the snow.

easily an evo VI zero fighter/ RS450... as long as you dont need to go over 80mph, the 450 would be what you're after. the gearing is too close for words, apparently, just what you want for winding roads and short straights.

it should be noted that i would own any evo (except maybe the VII GSR) over any car ever.
this includes a veyron, zonda F CS, 997 GT3 RS, TKR, S7TT, and any other combination of letters you can think of.
and when i say own any evo over any car ever, i dont mean i'd beat any other car in an evo, i mean actual possession. just in case that got misconstrued in any way.

    so, in closing
    EVO FTW!
