Thread: Tax rise on drinks, Binge drinking

    Drakkie, I understood Slick's entire first post.

    Also, binge drinking is a serious problem with many terrible consequences in both of the countries I have lived in... Australia and Republic or Ireland.

    The biggest problem is that the tax affects the pre-mix stuff.

    Kids will just pool resources and buy a big bottle of stuff and some lemonade, make a stronger batch and end up more drunk.

    The most attractive move you can make for a rebellious teenager to drink is to make it more illegal.

    They usually only buy 1-2 each.. I can't imagine them smuggling the big bottles together only because i cant see them spending more to get more kids are tight..

    Unless your my niece who steals $50 from her mother and blames it on everyone else because you cant 100% prove it.
    She can afford it.. And smokes she's 15 in high school and she doesn't work or get pocket money..

    is apple cider taxed? or that fruit beer? that stuff has no alcohol taste lol.

    not me, when i tried to get it in new zealand when i was 16. i thought it was just sparkly apple juice
