Holy shit that's different!! I like it (ofcourse)...

But whats's up with the XR's? They can't possibly leave them the same!!

Obviously anything they do to the standard headlights becomes hard to reflect on the XR's as theyve got totally unique units, so there goes perhaps the largest aspect of the update.

They couldve changed the plastic work, but who knows how much that wouldve taken from the budget. It looks like they could have a new design alloy wheel, or theyve gone for a more polished alloy look rather than a flat white-alloy look.

Theres also the possibility of a Fairmont Ghia Turbo which should sell pretty good. It looks like theyve integrated the bottom lip of the BA XR bodykit onto the BF2 Ghia kit to try and sport it up, so that together with the 0.5" wider tyres indicates its packing something more under the bonnet

The Ghia is the pick of the range IMHO, if the turbo rumours are true, that would definetley be the car Id buy or a VE Calais-V with the LS2.

They've finally caught on to the sports-luxury look!

They CREATED the sports-luxury look with the BA back in '02. Go look at an original VY Calais and its got nothing in the way of sports compared to the VY2, which was the kneejerk reaction to the BA remember.

I don't really see the BA fairmont Ghia as sports luxury - well atleast not to the level that Holden took it later on. The new Ghia looks sportier that the VE Calais IMO.

Well consider the BA Ghia has sports suspension and 17" wheels. The whole idea of sports-luxury is to look underrated and not overly brash. Thats what the sports range is for.

Heres perhaps the best view of the Ghia yet.

I can see a bit of Iosis in those headlights from that angle

Look also at how tight the brakes look behind the wheels. Those are 17" wheels remember, and the standard brakes would need to fit behind 16's.

Hmmm, a few of those 11 points seem to be speculation

    Still no rear taillight changes
But that Ghia does look the pic of them all i like it front looks great, I like what they have done to the headlights it's the best effort yet to make a change from the BA.
    I see Iosis

The BFII is quite a leap from the BF in styling...

I wish they would have changed the rear (it's been around so so long)

Same here i have been thinking how hard it is to pick them from the rear, I was thinking why couldn't they do a VT to VX job just to highlight the changes a bit more. Turn the brake lights into 2 stop lights each? Turn the taillights upside down change the shape or something?.

The tailights had a slight change for BF so they may have been unwilling to change again straight away, but maybe theyve gone for something funny considering what the new lights look like. I dont think we've seen a close enough pic of the rear yet
