Like i mentioned Rendering is CPU dependant. Maybe out source to states and get it shipped??

Below you can see the differencebetween cores for 3DS Max i use Alias so might be slighty different and for Hypershot which is really load intensive the difference will be larger.



Another comparison table here may help you. You shouldn't discount AMD so quickly.

You don't want to cheapen out on PSU, so still give yourself a CLEAR margin.

Using the on-line calculator I found and setting the load of the system to 100% it says I should have a PSU of at least 339W. Adding 20% to take in any inaccuracy's or power spikes and I am still safe. The PSU I have chosen is a CoolerMaster Extreme range so it's a quality make.

If you can recommend me a Core 2 Quad CPU that comes in at under £100 then I will use it. For my current budget I cannot get anything as powerful as the Dual Core I have selected. Regardless of how well it performs with other software.

I can't recomend an intel quad for this price, i did a quick serch and found a couple but still didn't surpase the phenom bang for buck.
